How to Configure Avast Internet Security 2016 Firewall for Connectify
In previous post I have shown how to uninstall Avast components like Firewall or secureline VPN. Most users say that their hotspot is not working even they disabled the antivirus security.
The Security software has their own policy to protect your PC from Viruses, Malwares and other types of Network Threats. It recognizes any kind of third party software as untrusted software and when you wish to share Internet Connection through Hotspot, Security Applications Blocks them to keep stay safe your PC from any kind of risk.
To share wifi hotspot internet connection you must add it to their White list area. The white list is a list of trusted programs or other resources. To get Connectify Hotspot and your security software to cooperate. When you’re using Microsoft’s own Windows Firewall, Connectify Hotspot can usually configure the settings for this. This is because Windows already trusts Connectify Hotspot. For third-party security software, additional configuration may be required.
The Instructions below shows the step by step Configuration of Firewall in Avast Internet Security 2016 -
I am going to configure firewall for OSToto Hotspot. You can configure it for Connectify also. Same Process will be applied for Connectify too.
1 - Open Avast Internet Security.
2 - Choose Tools > Firewall.
3 - Click on "Application Rules".
4 - Click on "New Group"
5 - Create Your Application Group Name.
6 - Go to new "Application Rule" and choose your newly created Group name as below -
7 - Choose Your Application. Click on open.
8 - Expend and Click on brown vertical Bars. Then Close.
9 - Now Click on "Settings".
10 - Select "Allow" in "Policies" tab.
It is Done. Click on "OK". Now open your Hotspot Application and share Connection in any device you wish to connect to. Enjoy.
